The lake is most commonly visited on day hikes in conjunction with Sky Pond. The Lake of Glass itself is beautiful and clear, with Taylor Peak and Taylor Glacier towering overhead. This hike was my favorite one in the Rockies. If you’re uncomfortable climbing the waterfall, the hike to the base of the falls is still worth it for views looking back, out into the valley. I think we've lost a bit trying to reach the second lake as the path there wasn't very clear but there was nothing dangerous and in the end, all of the ways led there anyways. Once you exit the woods, the trail gets significantly more difficult and steep. Some people do turn back at this point and the view is still spectacular.
